The ideal candidate will possess an absolute passion for music education. They will have experience and education to demonstrate proficiency both on their instrument and in an instructional setting. They will be comfortable and enthusiastic working with children and communicating with parents. Willingness to also work with adult students is a plus.
Currently teachers are assigned a space at our Wauwatosa house-studio in 53226 near the Zoo. We are in the process of finding a bigger space as the studio grows, but we plan to stay in the Tosa area.
A degree in music or education is highly encouraged or equivilant playing experience. Previous experience teaching in a lesson studio setting is great, but not required*.
The ideal candidate will be available on weeknights between 3:00-8:00pm and possibly Saturdays daytime. Hours will be scheduled based on student schedules and need, and will range from 5 to 15 hours per week. Teachers work as contractors, not employees. Pay is in the form of a monthly commission check based on number of lessons taught. Commission amount depends on the type of lesson taught (private, partner, small group, etc) and the experience and education of the candidate.
