corda music lessons

Corda Music Lessons is a locally-owned and operated music studio serving aspiring musicians of all ages in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and the surrounding area. Started in 2014 as Miss Christina's Piano Studio, Corda has grown to a roster of over 60 piano students and counting.

Why "corda"?

In Latin, corda means hearts.

The Italian word corda literally means “cord” or “string.” As a musical term, una corda is used to describe the left foot pedal on a piano that, when depressed, shifts the hammers over to strike only one string per key producing a softer sound. And tre corda is used to indicate the release of this pedal, thus allowing all three strings to resonate.

So, in a way, it could mean “heartstrings.”
